My family was talking about how kids are extremely disrespectful because they are not spanked or whipped with an actual whip. I don’t have kids because I’m 15, but dang, a whip?

I was spanked as a kid, but only with a paddle. This did NOT help me. My mom would tell me to bend over and it was disrespectful not to sit still and let her paddle me. I was like oh hell no and I would run away and try to get her away from me. It just made me more mad that I was supposed to sit there and get hit, even at 5 or 6. I guess it could help some people though.

Sometimes I would push my mom away or flail because I was scared to be paddled and I accidentally hurt her. She thought I had anger issues or something because I didn’t bend over and let her spank me. I never actually got spanked unless she physically held me down while I was screaming and kicking.

Now I act fine, I’ve never did anything to get in actual trouble, have all a’s, play basketball and I’m a normal kid. Which you might not think if you saw me when I was little.

My high school still spanks teens which I think is kinda silly.

This is an overused topic but I wanted to see what you thought after reading my story.
