Walking shoes?

Are those expensive stride rite walking shoes necessary?anyone  using them? I'm asking because I don't think they are necessary and my husband's mom grandma keep harassing me about why I don't put the ones she bout on my daughter. Every time I get her dressed she has a nice pair of shoes on, just not those walking shoes. I read online that it's better if babies learn how to walk bare foot.

Babies should learn to walk barefoot. Once walking is properly established that's when shoes are introduced.

I have also read barefoot is better for learning balance. Of course I wouldn’t let my little guy walk around other places without shoes but I don’t think any certain type of shoe is necessary. It’s not like it’s going to help them walk better or sooner or something.

I learned the hard way with my oldest daughter to NOT put babies in shoes until almost 2 years old. She ended up with arch, ankle and leg issues because I assumed she was walking, put her in shoes. After all sorts of specialists we saw over the years, the rest of my kids only wear the Bobux & Robeez leather shoes until a minimum of 2 years old and are their most often worn until age 3. The bones aren't fully developed until age 5 and putting them in strict rigid shoes causes problems. Let me add, UNLESS the child has other foot / hip  issues that medically requires hard sole rigid shoes.

Nope you don't need any footwear now. My daughter hates any shoes on her feet. I also noticed that when she wears any shoes she stop trying to pull up or walk while holding onto something. It's best not to use any footwear now while they are trying to walk.

I agree, once walking then they can try a bunch of different shoes.
That being said, it's not going to hurt to put the shoes on in front of her a couple times since she was nice enough to buy them for your child.😀

When buying your little one shoes make sure they can bend in the middle but are firm and strong on the ankle.
