My husband and I have been married for 10 1/2 years, have been TTC for 2 1/2 years, last year I found out I have the BRCA 1 gene which means my chances for ovarian and breast cancer are increased drastically, my dr told me it’s not a matter of if you will get cancer, it’s a matter of when. They have recommended I get preventative hysterectomy and double mastectomy by the time I’m 35. I’m 30 now. This of course ramped up trying to conceive. We saw a fertility specialist for a year with no luck, I had 2 chemical pregnancies in the last 6 months, feeling very discouraged. Was one day late and decided to test just so I could confirm I was not pregnant and move on with my day. But, that second line popped up with in a minute, I was in shock, sat there crying like a baby then ran to the store to get a few more test to be sure. My husband of course had no clue, I bought him a shirt that said “dad bod”, handed it to him he looked at it (a little offended I think 😂) I asked if he “got it” then it clicked, “YOU’RE PREGNANT?!” Can’t wait to meet you my sweet babe!
