When did you find your purpose/career path?

Question

I thought I knew what I wanted but could get it to work out. I’ve changed my major like ten times. I don’t know what to do. I got my associates but can’t find a job, passion, love, or even find a four year school that will accept me into a program. How did you find your love and passion. How did you pursue it?

I'm still trying to find it 😂 but for me it helped working different jobs as I grew up and I found out what I did and didn't like, such as when I was thinking of nursing I exposed myself to the medical and found out its not what I wanted to do. Taking classes are great but personally I think volunteering and working are the best cause you get hands on experience and it'll help you figure out what you love and what you hate.

I'm 27 and have my bachelors degree and I'm still looking for my passion/career choice. It's hard, but have you tried reaching out to your alma mater for assistance? My college had a career services office that could help you with continuing education or career searching. Or maybe the alumni network.

I changed majors a couple times in college. A boss at my grocery store job recommended speech pathologist to me because I said I would like to teach but I didn’t think I could stand in front of a classroom full of students. That eventually became a degree in special education. 
During my first year as a special ed teacher I observed the teacher of the program for students aged 18-21 which focuses on job and independent living skills. I was 24 or 25 at the time. From then on I knew it was my dream job. Three years later and now in a different school district I got my dream job. Two years into it and I am as happy with my career as I could be.

I shadowed a bunch of college classes in different majors to see what interested me. I sat in on a language development class and loved it. Now Im on the path to become speech language pathologist. I have a few more years to go, but I'm still really enjoying my classes.
I would look to see if a college near you allows class shadowing. It's much better than paying for a class only to find out that you hate it.
