Would I be a hypocrite if I wanted to get induced?

Question

This whole pregnancy I’ve said that I wouldn’t get induced unless it was for serious medical reasons...now I’m 40+6 and I’m dying. 
I even took castor oil (only on my midwives recommendation and after A LOT of research so I don’t want to hear your opinion) yesterday and now it’s 18 hours later and other than some diarrhea and mild contractions last night there’s nothing happening. 
My mom is coming to visit from 1500 miles away next Friday 6/7 and I’m worried the baby won’t even be here yet. Plus it’s messing up my schedule for going back from maternity leave. I’m an anxious depressed mess.

Generally by 41 weeks it can be considered medically necessary. Talk to your doc and get that baby out!

I was induced at 40+6. It was elective against my doctors advice. Best decision.

This is your journey as a mother. There are going to be many things you do even though you thought you never would. Don’t feel guilty and do what feels right for you and your baby and don’t worry about anyone else. One of my biggest regrets with my first child is trying to do everything how I thought it was “supposed” to. I made myself miserable. Just go with what you feel is right at this time

I’m in the same situation. I said from the get go that I don’t want to be induced. I’ve had two sweeps and at my last appt my OB said I’m a tight 3. I go back Monday to get checked again and have a possible induction set for Tuesday night. I’m 40w3d and was on the brink of tears this morning, my body is achy and sore and I’m so ready to meet my girl 😩 so don’t feel like a hypocrite for wanting to get the ball rolling!!

I was induced 6 days early bc I was so uncomfortable. Come to find out the cord was wrapped around my babies neck and leg and I was taken back for a c-section. I wanted natural but my family has a history of not being able to dilate and I had the same issue after being induced too.

Changing your mind does not make you a hypocrite! By this time it’s likely better for your girl to be out anyway.

I tried castor oil too and it did nothing. Didn’t even make me 💩 (which I would have been over the moon with 🤣) 
If you have the option get induced definitely do so. I was induced with my first 40+12 and it was very pleasant tbh. Still had natural birth with gas and air. 
Wish I could request it now. In the Uk we don’t get the choice unless itsfor medical reasons. 
So looks like I’m waiting AGAIN to be induced at 40+12. Sweep at 40+6 (didn’t work with my first). 
Currently 40+1 and I’m going crazy 😭😭😭
