Dock A Tot safety?

Looking into getting a dock a tot. But I read it isn’t safe? Any moms have experience with it?

It’s safe if they are awake and being supervised. It’s not for long sleeping periods because of the material.

It’s not rated for sleeping. Just for lounging with supervision. We use one during the day and it’s a life saver.

I’m commenting even though this is old because I disagree with a lot of people. 
It is not legally called a safe sleeper for baby but I personally think based off of research that it’s as safe as you make it. Research safe bed sharing or cosleeping rules and follow them to a t. 
Between 2012-2018 only two infant deaths were linked to the dock a tot. I’m not saying those deaths didn’t matter but babies have died in doctor recommended cribs with the perfect mattress and the right clothes and the right everything. 
So while they aren’t allowed to say it’s a safe sleeping environment for a baby, I don’t think that means it isn’t. Do your own research and practice safe sleep habits.

I did a lot of research 3 years ago and ended up getting the dock a tot for my first daughter. I’m not sure if my kids are just good sleepers or if it was due to the dock a tot but I have been using it with my newborn the last 2.5 weeks. It is not in her crib yet, she is still in my room until we get on a better schedule since my two girls will be sharing a room. I used the dock a tot the first time around in my crib from the day we brought her home. 
I am anxious to continue to use since SIDS is mentioned a lot with cosleepers. Ultimately you have to make your own decision and regardless of the outcome you have to own it. Everybody’s situation is dofferent (some cosleep, some do not, some use a cosleeper for supervised naps, etc.).

They are unsafe for overnight sleeping.....have a look at the Lullaby Trust website for a full write up - they do research into SIDs.
