Is it normal for my one month old to sound congested??

I mainly notice the nasally sound while he is eating and sleeping on his back. I’m a first time mom and not sure if I should be concerned or not!

My baby did the same thing, idk if it's normal. It seemed like it was bothering him and the nose sucker doesnt fix it. We fixed it by dropping some saline drops into his nose and blowing the boogers out through his mouth. He sounded so much better after that.

Mine had that at about the same time. We were all day everyday suctioning with the nose frida, using zarbees vapor rub, sitting in a steamy bathroom to open sinuses and using a humidifier. He wasn’t sick, they said it’s just common for newborns to have issues like that. They came from a perfect womb into a world filled with allergens and pollutants that mess with their tiny systems.

Yes and no. It is ‘normal’ no, but is it common yes! It typically doesn’t bother them and rarely indicates that they are sick unless accompanied by other symptoms. It will make it easier for them to breathe (especially while eating) if you clear it out. You can use saline (I prefer the Arm & Hammer Mist version) and a bulb syringe or you can use the tip of a Qtip. It’s typically just dried formula/breastmilk that got there during burping etc. The Nose Frida is great for wet snot, not dried snot.
