Need help from people with experience!!

So iv tried to go on top of my man so many times and my anxiety took over and I just froze , my man is abit on the smaller side and I plan to try again the next time I see him , my question is when on top bouncing up and down is it easier to kind of be upright or lean over ? Taking his size into consideration if that even matters .. staying anonymous because it’s embarrassing lol
