Breaks?

Married people, did you ever have to take a break or break up with your significant other in the early stages of the relationship to make sure it was right or that you or the other person was ready for something serious? How long did it last and how long have you been together since then?

I don’t believe in breaks. I’ve personally never seen or heard of one actually helping a relationship.

I have been with my husband for ten years, married for 4. We never took a break or broke up. However, If you feel that it may not be the right fit, there is nothing wrong with taking time to figure it out. Every relationship is different. Good luck! ❤️

Nope. I wouldn't have gotten into a relationship with my now husband if I didn't know what I wanted from the relationship, what I was ready for,  and what my standards are.
I was ready to settle down, I wasn't rushing into something without having thought beforehand if I was actually ready for such or not.

Well considering a break is basically putting you on the backburner while they "decide" or "figure out" something... I don't believe in them..If you 2 are on the same page,love eachother, you either know you want to spend the rest of your life with that person or you don't. Timing is everything. If someone is having second thoughts on if its "right" then let them go.. do your own thing.. if its meant to be you will find out in the right time

I tried to take a break. I got scared of the way I felt about him and how serious we were getting so quickly. I’d never felt that way before and honestly never met a guy quite like him. I’ve always been very independent and never needed someone before and that was terrifying to me. My family also made it clear they didn’t approve of us being together. Even on the “break” though we couldn’t stay away from each other though. We’d still be together every day, honestly he’s always been my safe place. I think him being there even when I was scared and trying to push him away and him just still fighting for us and loving me is what made me realize it would be okay. That he needed me as much as I needed him.
