Induction for vbac?

Question

Can anyone give me any information on the risks of being induced for a vbac? 
My midwife has asked me if I'm open to it because a lot of women won't do it. I didn't think much of it until I left and now I'm wondering why? 
Want to make the right choices. I don't see the midwife again for another 2 months so can't ask her.

I had a vbac in October and I didnt want an induction at all because I was super terrified of a rupture (even though it's so rare) well I went I to labor and was having contractions every 3 minutes for like 8 hours with no more dialation. So we decided to try pitocin to give me stronger contractions and I used pitocin for several hours and then had my successful vbac!! Everyone has different stories and reasons and I never thought I would allow pitocin but it ended up probably being the reason I had a successful vbac. I think if I have another baby I would be more open to induction than I was with this last birth

I was induced and had a successful vbac. I was overdue and for me I preferred to be induced and have a go at a vbac over choosing another c-section. My birth was wonderful and it went perfectly. My hospital only induces vbacs with the balloon, so I had that overnight, next morning my waters were broken. No contractions started so I was started on the drip low dose and it was slowly increased. From when I felt the first contraction to when she was in my arms was 2hrs 30mins. No pain relief. It’s a tough choice. Good luck.

I was induced last time which ended in an emergency c section so this time if i dont go into labour naturally i will have a repeat c section.

I’m in a similar situation- attempting my first VBAC in hopefully 2-3 weeks. My doctor said he would start on a low dose of pitocin and increase slowly if necessary.

My doctor said the use of pitocin May increase your risk of uterine rupture... but only to like 2% so still very small chance. My water broke May 8 and I wasn’t dilating at all so they ended up using pitocin on me but went very slowly and it all worked out great!! Good luck!
