My birth story

Li

Hey everyone! I’m going to share my birth story with you all. So I was set to be induced at 39 weeks (May 23rd) not for medical reasons but by choice. So we show up at 5am to get the show on the road. Baby boy was being super lazy and far in my back so they didn’t feel comfortable starting the Pitocin until he became more active and they could monitor his heart rate more effectively. I was checked and told to be at 4cm - 80% thinned. They gave me some apple juice and that did the trick. We started pitocin at 6:30am. Everything was great (no breathtaking contractions) until the doctor came in an broke my water around 12:45pm. That’s when shit got REAL! Within 15 minutes I was in full blown, breathtaking, terribly painful labor. I worked the ball, labored in the tub, and eventually asked for the epidural. Got my epidural at 2:15pm and within 30 mins I was pain free but still feeling pressure with each contraction. I was checked at 3pm- 6cm, 95% thinned. After laboring for another two hours, I was checked at 5pm and I was 9.5 cm with only a tad of my cervix still thick! It was time to push as baby’s head was right where it needed to be. I started pushing at 5:04 and within 6 minutes, at 5:10pm, my beautiful baby boy was born. Get this! I pushed out a 10lbs, 11oz baby in SIX FUCKING MINUTES! I felt like superwoman! I tore a little on my urethra, but nothing more. I got two stitches. He did come out bruised and jaundice from how fast I delivered him and how big he was. He also had jaundice because I’m O+ and he’s A- which is called ABO incompatibility.

Meet my second born, Mason Daniel Lee Singh, born May 23rd at 5:10pm weighing 10lbs, 11oz and 21 & 1/2 inches long. His big sissy adores him! 💙😊

Now, he’s almost two weeks old!
