Is this normal when buying plane tickets?? Help!

I’m meeting my long distance bf after

2 & a half years together & he’s coming to me so

We can go to my prom together, he finally started booking the tickets today through Expedia for 7

Days here but when he filled in all the information, he was waiting in a screen saying “confirming your booking” & it would stop loading to

Say “there was a problem with your payment” he re-entered all his information carefully & it kept saying the same, he then checked his bank account & noticed they took the money.. without a confirmation.. he then called (I think he called Expedia) & they told him that he had to way 3 days for the money to go through & get a confirmation.. & he’d have to check in his expedia account...it’s our first time buying tickets... is this normal?? Please help!
