Discipline?

How do you discipline a 1.5 year old?? My son has started screaming and falling down when he's mad or upset. I don't want to spank, I have flicked his hand a few times.... I know he's frustrated because he's trying to communicate but how much do I let him get away with before disciplining him?

When they throw temperatures like that u best bet is to leave them alone walk away. Put them in there room if you would like and dont give in to what ever there crying about

Dont react. You're the adult, you're the parent. If your child is in distress and then see you act the same way by shouting or getting upset or hitting then they will feed of that even more and it will take them longer to calm down. Leave your child to get on with it, tell your child that you are there when they need you. Please watch: The Mellow Momma on YouTube! She does respectful parenting (I also follow this parenting style) and she talks about what she does when her toddler has tantrums. Shes brilliant.

Discipline isn’t needed when they having a paddy over little things its there age, but once they get to about 2 and they do something naughty like like hitting then you can use time out and explain why they getting put into time out to. But at that age it’s all about leaving them to scream and shout they will calm down once you ignore the behaviour, or you can try distracting them with something else to do. I’ve never hit any of my kids and never will there nicer ways of dealing with there behaviour. 😊
