So we are in the process of buying a house and just got an offer accepted on a house we are so pleased with.

We’ve wanted this for such a long time and it’s been hard work to get to this point. My own parents have been so excited and supportive for us and have given us great advice.

We live literally on my IL’s land and it’s been a total nightmare. To be honest I have a terrible relationship with them so it’s been horrible. The only thing that has gotten me through living there is having this end goal in sight.

Any way, my OH shared our news with his mother, and she couldn’t find it within herself to say a single nice thing about it.

“It’s too small”

“Not enough car park space”

“The school is terrible where you’ll be living”

“Are you sure you wanna live there” she’ll say in a way that’s she’s turning her nose up at us

I don’t give a shit what she thinks cus I honestly hate her but I can see it hurts my partner.

It’s not just the house, but they’re like this in general always negative when we are making positive change in our lives.

He sees how my parents are so loving and supportive and I think he longs for his parents’ approval but he just never gets it.

And to top it off she’s such a two faced bitch that when I was speaking to her alone she was gushing about how great the house is... like wtf

Anyone else just can’t stand their in laws? 🤦‍♀️
