2 month old won’t nap

Helene

I’m sorry I’m advance because this is a long read but I’m looking for some help

My baby girl is 10 weeks old and here’s what our everyday looks like:

Wake up between 7 and 9 am .. everyday is a bit different, sometimes she sleeps a 5 hour stretch at night and then wakes up every couple hours and sometimes she wakes up every 2-3 hours consistently. Bedtime is always around 10 pm

After waking up, I breastfeed her then change her diaper

We go downstairs and the only way I can make myself something to eat is if I put her in this little recliner for her on the counter while I make food. If I lay her down she freaks out and cries until I pick her up but she doesn’t sleep in the recliner either

I breastfeed her every 1-2 hours and she’ll nurse for about 10 minutes each feeding from only one side. She always falls asleep while nursing and her doctor seems unconcerned about this.

We have a swing that I can put her in while I shower and get dressed in that she enjoys being in.

BUT

The only time she’ll fall asleep during the day is if I don’t move her after she passes out on me while nursing. If I let her fall asleep on me and move to lay her down she instantly wakes up. And if she does manage to fall asleep laying down, she never lasts more than 10 minutes before waking up. I honestly love holding her all day during this newborn phase but it would be nice to have some time to go pee, make a decent meal, clean the house, etc

My day is basically repeated cycle of changing her diaper, feeding her, trying to put her down, having her wake up, either playing with her in her recliner/chair or feeding her again which I know having a newborn IS doing all those things but I’m holding her almost the full day

At night we put her in a sleepsack in her bassinet beside my side of the bed and she manages to sleep (knock on wood that I didn’t just jinx that lol)

I do not want to implement the “cry it out” method. I respect parents who do so, it’s just not for us

She’s a happy baby girl and everything is great, I’m just looking to see if anyone else is going through this or any tips so baby girl can actually have a few naps during the day on her own, I feel like she’s chronically overtired but maybe I’m wrong!
