My birth story!
Saturday night, I was up all night with lots of contractions. They started becoming closer together and stronger, so I woke my husband up and we headed to labor and delivery. We spent all night there, in a state of constant labor, but I wasn't dilating past a 1 so they sent me home. We went home and slept, (or at least tired to) I didn't eat anything. After our "nap", we walked around car dealerships and went to Walmart as well, trying to get contractions going. Well, while we were at Walmart, my husband and I got into an argument and needless to say, I was thrown back into labor. We rushed back to the hospital and my husband was freaking out and crying hysterically saying it was all his fault how horrible he was. It was quite hilarious. When we got there, I went back to labor and delivery and they monitored me for a few hours, then sent me home again. Now we're at Monday morning, still in labor. I called my doctor to make an emergency appointment and she told me to go to labor and delivery testing and they'd already have a room set up for me. We spent hours and hours in testing; it seemed like it took all day! Turns out, I wasn't ruptured, but I was somehow leaking fluids and got sent to antipartum to be monitored. Monday night, they did an ultrasound and discovered my fluids were dangerously low, so I was put on the list for an "emergency induction". They gave me pain meds and told me I was number 7 on the list and would be sent to labor and delivery when it was "my turn". Still in labor! I went through the whole next day as number 7, because there were just "too many emergent cases coming in." By this time, they had me pumped full of pain meds and dilation went down a half step, even though contractions were still strong. Now we're at Tuesday night, at 1800; finally getting cervidil placed in my cervix and I am in labor and delivery, and allowed a clear liquid diet whereas before I was only allowed ice chips. Wednesday morning I get woke up by doctors taking out the cervidil at 0600 and I am 100% effaced and 1cm dilated. Then they started the oxytocin and those contractions became STRONG. Three hours later And I was ALMOST a two and I caved. They gave me the epidural and I was smooth sailing until about 7-8cm at 1500. They then had to start giving me an even stronger pain medication through the epidural as well as pushing the button and I broke a stress ball trying to deal with the pain. Finally at 1715, I was dilated to a 10, and I was ready to push. At 1726 on 23Sep2015, after almost 4 days of labor, baby Kairi Abigail Le was born; weighing 7lbs, 13ozs and measuring 20in long. My sweet baby girl is finally here, 4 days earlier than planned, but that is okay! I hope everyone who is left on this journey has a very happy, safe and easy delivery. 😘
