weird scale thing

how come when i step on the scale it reads a number but then i get off, make it go to 0 again then step on again and it reads like 3 pounds lighter (i havent done anything in the meantime, i havent used the bathroom or anything its literally a second later)

for example today i step on the scale and it says 120

then i get off and get back on and it says 117
