Curious...how many stay home vs work outside the home full time?

With 3 kids and childcare costs, I'm curious how others make it work.  Without my full income we can't afford our home.  I always planned on working full time.  Trying to figure out this new balance....

Currently full time in education. I plan on finishing the next school year, then staying home.

I said work outside the home ft because I do have a full time job but I work from home in the evenings after my husband gets home.   It’s the middle ground - at least I’m working and don’t have to pay for childcare.

If I worked full time I would make like 1800 a month.... childcare would be like 600$ ... plus we would loose 700$ food stamp money soooooooooo yeah 500$ benefit for 40 hours a week... I’m a stay at home mom! I’m planning on working from home in the early am and evening.

I stay home with my daughter. Our plan was for me to go back to work when she started kindergarten. Somehow during this process, I ended up also keeping my sisters children (it’s a long story) and now I’m pregnant with #2. I will be staying home until she’s school age.

I was just wanting to post this same exact question. I’m a teacher and I work full time with 2 kids. I really want to have a 3rd. I just have a feeling it would be hard financially and working at the same time with more kids. It’s sad that a mom has to feel this way.

With my daughter I was a student, then with my son I worked til he was born then went back to school. I will take the rest of the year off this time around.

I work evenings a few days a week, sometimes I dont at all one week, I average maybe 10 hours a week. And dad watches them when hes home at night. We just make the sacrifices, for us it's more important to have me at home then to have two cats and a house and other luxuries. We rent and have one car and live by the station. 
Not to mention in our city daycare would cost about 2000$ a month so I'd be working just to pay for childcare!
