Its honesty hour. And hopefully a humbling post for some as a reminder
Possible TW.
Well the day finally came at work. The dreaded department supervisor is finally leaving at my plant site. All the operators are excited right? She might as well have been called sarge instead of mrs. Everything had to be done her way, the particular way. And she demanded respect through forceful demands and dared others to question her judgment.. It didnt matter what you did, it was wrong in her eyes and since she was a boss, what she said goes and nobody was to go against her words. Sounds tough right? Every work place has one of those micro managers.
But this isnt to trash her name. I prayed for her the other day and today. Shes leaving the company because her husband beat the absolute shit out of her at home. Turns out that the workplace was the only place she was treated like a respectable (kinda, she could have handled things in not-so-bossy way) woman. All of us operators hated the idea of working under her because she was so uptight and dense that you cant joke around with her like the other supervisors. Not a single one of us knew what was going on with her at home.
I cant speak for the rest, but this truly humbled me and my whole perspective changed for her. That was her way of being able to truly be free and make decisions for herself without somebody else dictating her.
So basically this is a reminder to try to remember to be kind to people. Even if they seem a bit harsh, you never know what's going on at home with others. I know we all think that we do that, but in day to day life, weve all got that one person that we roll our eyes at at the mention of their name. They may be going through something that nobody knows about so please try to remember that.
So as Ellen DeGeneres so amazingly says every day, be kind to one another 💕
