So my due date was 20th June but guess he couldn’t wait

Had a nail appointment on Tuesday the 4th June

Went and got my nails done and in the process of doing my nails I started getting what felt like intense Braxton-Hicks to be honest and I just knew I was in slow labour because by the time I got home those Braxton-Hicks turned a little more intense but not painful

Ok so to Wednesday the 5th after a very restless night I woke up and went toilet and seen a pink tinged discharge no mucus plug just discharge

I then started to feel winded in my back and stomach and that winded feeling lasted all day was still getting these intense but not painful Braxton-Hicks

So come maybe 2.30pm I went to wash and clean out my car and when we got to the car wash that winded feeling become unbearable I started shaking and gipping like I wanted to throw up but I didn’t

Told my husband get the kids from school early something is happening

So picked them up got home and the Braxton-Hicks was slowly turning painful to the point I was on my hands and knees on the floor

I rang birthing centre who told me to come in I was crying and hyperventilating by this point

So me hubby and kids went up there the midwife checked and said my cervix was only open a tiny bit and still very high

So she gave me some peppermint to smell every time the pain hit which seemed to calm me right down and the pain so they told me to stay a hour see how I go had a half hour nap and woke up feeling Ok although still had the winded feeling and also vomited all my dinner up in the time I was there

Ended up going home around 6pm in the evening so disappointed I didn’t have my baby

Anyway got home had a bath put my kids to bed then lied down myself by this time it was 8pm

The winded feeling was still there and horrible but must of dozed off around 10 11pm

I woke up at around half hour past midnight (12.30) with more painful contractions

Started vomiting at around 1am

After I vomited is when the contractions really started picking up so I timed the from 1.15 to 2.30 and they was 5 mins 4 minutes 6 minute and so on and getting a lot more intense

So by 2.30 I knew it was time to go back to birth centre

Got here around 3am with contractions still 5 and 3 minutes apart

So midwife told me it’s not enough for even gas and air

Did they know the pain I was in but ok no strength to argue I was exhausted

Midwife then told me to get off the bed and move around which ended up with me been on all 4s on the floor that’s when the pain really picked up and I started feeling like I needed to push

So when midwife comes back in the room I begging her for the pethadine

She checked and said it’s too late baby’s head is there already

I pushed for about 5 to 10 minutes and he was born

No gas and air nothing

But his worth every ounce of the pain I felt

Born exactly 38 weeks
