How did you transition from swaddle to sleepsack?

How did you transition your little one from swaddle to sleepsack? How long did it take? My little one (almost 17 weeks) loves the swaddle but I would like to start transitioning her out of it so I can transition her to her crib at night in the next month or two.

We did one week of swaddling with one arm out. Now we are on swaddling with both arms out but he still gets the swaddle around his trunk. Then Friday I’m going to move to the sleep sack. I’ve always done changes on the weekend to save my sanity if he doesn’t sleep well.

Just tried it last night, cried every hour. After night feeding around 3 am on our bed I couldn’t get back up to put him back in his crib... Will try again tonight! Lol

I tried to transition into a sleep sack for about a week. But he startled himself away constantly and none of us got any sleep. I tried swaddling with an arm out and that was about the same. Until
His startle reflex is GONE entirely I’m still swaddling. That was a week from hell.

Just went right into this (similar to the zipadee zip but much cheaper). Took a few nights for her to get use to having her hands out but now she sleeps amazing!

I only swaddle her arms since day one. Like this we can swaddler her in her sleeping sack. She has slept well without the swaddle sometimes - but goes completely wild the last weeks.

My mom said it was a torture device (lol) and the baby didn’t stop crying in it when she babysat one night so she ditched the swaddle and baby slept great and has slept without it ever since!

I've never understood this transition thing. I just do it. He was swaddled now he's not, sleeps the exact same.

We did the one arm at a time out method. At first was rough, gave up half way through the night and put her back in a swaddle or brought her to my bed to nurse laying down since she was getting up more frequently didn’t bother to put her back in her crib so we were taking steps backwards 😭 finally I just sucked it up and tried over a weekend so dad could help. Stayed up for her feeds so I could put her back in the crib and she did well! Still startles sometimes but will go right back down.. it’s more so her scratching her face that we’re trying to work with now
