Who has had an unmediated natural birth?

Question

I’m 30 weeks pregnant and I have always said that I don’t want an epidural or pain medicine during pregnancy. When I tell people this I get a lot of push back and they say that I won’t be able to do it. 
I just feel like it’s what my body was meant to do and I want to let it do it’s thing. If you have had a natural unmediated birth please share your story below or if you plan on having one let me know too.

I’m about to have one!! I’m doing a water birth at home. After two miscarriages it makes one of my brothers very nervous and weird. He thinks I shouldn’t be allowed to. But it’s my vagina so 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Listen to the podcast the birth hour! It has some great stories on there. I am also 30 weeks pregnancy and this is my first and I’m planning on going all natural and unmedicated as well. I’m very excited about it. I really want a water birth. Everything has been healthy with both me and my baby and my midwives are awesome. I’ve had a lot of those comments too like “just wait till you’re actually in labor😒” Don’t let any of the downers change your mind😊

I say go for it, I didn’t. I was induced and went so fast I did happen to get an epidural. But if you DONT do not beat yourself up. Just because one mom does it and another doesn’t makes them no different. We are all badass, csection moms too. My labor was amazing, I was only in labor 4 hours, it was wonderful, one push and I felt nothing it was heaven honestly! And despite what they say I was up and walking within an hour, no negative effects on breast milk production (I’ve seen some people claim this although there is no MEDICAL evidence suggesting this), I barely tore, it was a superficial tear. I had my first BM in the hospital a day after labor. Just remember everyone is different. I think laboring has a LOT to do with your maternal genetics. Ask your mom how her labors went! My moms were all super fast, easy recoveries. Either way you do it, you are AMAZING. Good luck!!

I did it, honestly everyone thought the same and honestly it was annoying! But I did it. It’s was very painful I tell you that much but mange to get threw it.

With my first I had the gas the whole time and a shot of painkillers.  2nd  baby I had nothing at all and literally thought I was going to die the pain was unbelievable!!!!! I'm now 29 weeks pregnant with my 3rd this time I will be having the gas and pain killers again 😁 I don't believe in epidural's but each to their own😊 that's just me lol

I had two and am very happy I did!  Read Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth to give yourself a confidence boost and coping techniques.  I’m planning for this baby to be my third unmedicated delivery and I definitely wouldn’t do it a third time if I didn’t feel there was some benefit to it.

I had an uncomplicated, unmedicated vaginal birth :) I had a sweep just past 41 weeks and contractions started about 12 hrs later around 1 am. I went back to sleep till about 8 am. My partner said I oohed in my sleep. I labored around the house : bath, swaying with my partner, massages, bouncing on my yoga ball, squats etc. I went to the hospital when my contractions were 3 min apart at noon. I was 3 cm. I had my daughter around 3pm. I pushed for maybe 20 min/6 pushes. 14 hr labor total. It was really intense the last hour or so. I had a really hard time not pushing in the end, my contractions were very effective. Midwife barely made it in the room before having her. My best advice is to go in with an open mind. Learn about what to expect in general with each stage of labor. We took an all in one Saturday labor and delivery class and I believe it helped us a lot. We used quite a bit of the pain coping techniques. Also remember to breathe. Be vocal like oohing. Listen to your nurses/ dr/midwives with pushing. I did tear, and got a mole removed down there while being stitched up but none of that mattered when they put my daughter on my chest. She just turned 1 on Mother’s Day and I’m almost 28 weeks and ready to do it all over again at the end of summer. Remember women have been doing this for ages and you’re surrounded by a collective of feminine energy 💕

I am planning a home birth with no medication, I’ve been reading a lot of books and the best one I came across is Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way.  Before I read that, I was pretty nervous but it explains everything your body does during birth and helped ease my mind. Hope this helps!  We can do it!
