Fresh vs Frozen?

Question

Do you chose fresh or frozen eggs and why? Trying to decide and wanting all the info I can get!

My doc only does freeze because he says the retrieval is for focusing on the eggs and then he can focus on the uterus after. He likes his patients to down regulate off the retrieval meds and has seen better rates due to it. My retrieval was 2/7, transfer 4/22 and I'm now 9 weeks 3 days 😊

We did frozen because we had our blasts tested and had to wait for results anyway. But it gave my body time to recover from stimming. I took advantage of the extra time we had before transfer to eat sushi, go wine tasting, exercise
with no restrictions etc, before I had to be more
careful. 😆 
Plus with a frozen transfer it’s a higher pregnancy rate. So far so good here!

We did freeze all. Doctor said it had better odds. The preparations for retrieval are not identical for frozen, so I think they optimize the drugs for each separately. Surviving the 5 days and freeze/thaw can weed out some that might fail before they get transferred.

I chose fresh to save money but during my ultrasounds they thought they saw a polyp and my estrogen was too high to do a fresh. Everything I have read though since they switched me to frozen says that the success rates are higher with frozen. I have my transfer this month, baby dust to you 🙏🙏🙏

My transfer is going to be frozen because I was high risk of ohss and they wanted to let my body get mostly back to normal again first.

We decided to freeze all let my body rest from stims and then prep for transfer. Which I didn’t know it’s a whole protocol for  FET.

My first transfer was fresh and my second was frozen. I kind of wish I waited my first transfer. My body was still sore and bloated from the retrieval. That cycle did not take. My second cycle did and I’m now 18w5d.
