Freemie or third spectra?
Anyone have any experience with the freemie pump? I have two spectras from my last round of pumping/breastfeeding: an S1 from insurance and an S2 I bought for myself. I keep one at work and one at home. I love them as much as you can love breast pumps. They are quiet, clean, customizable, and (most importantly), super effective.
Here is my issue: do I get a new spectra through insurance for this pregnancy as a “back up” or do I get a freemie? The freemie wasn’t an option last time, and I feel like it could be helpful at home. I have a daughter who will be 2.5 when my son is born. She is very rambunctious. I am not sure I will have a lot of time to sit and pump. (It’s not like I can contain her in a pack n play if she wakes up early, like I used too!) It could be nice to have a more portable/discreet option to use while pumping at home. The spectra is great, but even unplugged it is not very portable, and requires a hands free pumping bra. I don’t want to waste my time if the freemie is not effective or is uncomfortable though.
Has anyone used the freemie? What’s it like? Would I be able to keep a toddler out of trouble using it? Is it comfortable? How is your output while using it? Any advice would be much appreciated!
