advice....where will baby sleep?

I was looking at a next to me bed but they only last up to 6 months, is putting a baby in a small cot safe from birth as someone told me it's not because of drafts? I'm kinda stressing out as I don't have a bed for him yet. anyone else going to be using a cot from birth?

Uk advice is you keep baby in your room until 6 months. As long as it a flat safe sleeping space it’s up to you. I’ve never heard anything about drafts. If you baby seems cold add a blanket. Just be mindful it’s much more dangerous for a baby to be hot then cold. A cold baby will let you know it’s cold a overheated baby wont.

As long as they are on a firm, flat surface it doesn't matter what they sleep in! A cot is just as safe as a next to me crib, but weve gone for one of those as her cot just wouldn't fit in our bedroom, and I plan to breastfeed, so having her at arms reach will be helpful.
