Break through bleeding?

What is breakthrough bleeding like? I’m at the end of my second week in the pack. Yesterday and today, I notice a pink, light brown discharge on the tissue when I wipe after peeing, but never on my panty liner. Yesterday, I saw a bit of string of blood on the toilet but not due for my period till after third week.

Breakthrough bleeding happens when your uterus lining thickens without shedding it like it does during menstruation. The lining will bleed during sex, orgasms, physical exercise,or just because it is too thick with blood.
Your doctor can help you stop it by prescribing extra pills, change the way you take your pills or give you a different type of pills. Birth control typically makes the lining thin.
When you use cycle extending birth control like skipping the placebo pills, the shot or the implant, it is more common to see breakthrough bleeding. Also when you start the pill, or you skip or are late taking pills. Other things like antibiotics can also cause it.
