Any very very pale people get spray tans?

I have a formal event coming up soon and I am very distractingly pale. I don’t usually mind but I think my dress will look nicer if I’m a little bit tan looking? I am considering a spray tan, but I’ve always been told I’d just look orange if I got a spray tan. Not by anyone who really understands spray tans but I guess I’ve heard the paler you are, the worse it turns out. I wouldn’t get anything drastic and I’d do it very lightly if that’s an option. But if anyone has experiences I’d love to hear them

As another very pale woman to another I can tell you your friends are right, you will turn orange. If you want to be tan, attempt to get a natural one.

I wouldn’t do a spray tan. You should try tanning lotion that develops slowly. It looks more natural, less expensive and you can do it yourself at home

I'm a ginger. I got a spray tan for prom like 5 years ago and I turned so orange. What I have found I like is this....

I get the "deep bronze" simply because I'm impatient. It's instant results (that get darker over time) and gets me to the perfect shade I want after one application and 8 hours instant of slowly applying layers over multiple days. It then lasts (slowly fading) for about a week.
If you're going to use it, DEFINATELY play with it before your formal. Took me some time to find the amount I like to put on. Also figuring out how to avoid streaks. Wear gloves. And put a small amount of lotion of dry areas before using it. (elbows, knees)
It's far more natural than the spray tan I had. I usually apply it before bed. I've never had it stain any clothes or towels but the smell does get on them. So if you don't like the smell, be prepared to wash your sheets.
