One baby on first ultrasound, two on second?

Has this happend to any of you guys?

I asked them right away if I am having twins (runs in my genetics) and the lady said no. I was 7 weeks, another ultra sound I had ten weeks after and I had twins. I had such a feeling there is two of them and keep on asking to do earlier ultra sounds but they simply didn't care, when they took my blood work to see gender came out without result (I have a boy and a girl) and they didn't even got worry. I got so upset with them that I switch the doctor right away.

Yep! I even called the next day and asked, because I swore I saw a second sac in one of the ultrasound pics, with a baby in it. The tech said she couldn't have missed a twin, and it was "just an ovarian cyst" next ultrasound there were two beautiful babies!! I'm thinking about switching dr offices- because I feel like they didn't care to look, and just said something to make me stop freaking out, when I KNEW what I saw, and had a strong feeling of have twins from the moment I knew I was pregnant!

Yes!! Ultrasound at 8 weeks showed just one, but we clearly saw 2 at 11 weeks! I am now 25 weeks with identical boys :)

Both my ultrasounds could have easily missed both sets of twins.  The first, one twin was hiding in the corner of my uterus, a tech who wasn't thorough would have missed it completely (6 weeks).  My second pregnancy (10.5 weeks), doc found one baby and wasn't going to look for another until we told him to look around for a bit.  Sure enough, two!

It's very common for them to shadow each other on a first ultrasound. Ours were on complete opposite ends, they wanted to be seen! Congrats! It's an amazing feeling!
