Naming a baby after a dog?! 👶🏼🐶

Question

When I was in high school, my family had a dog. This dogs name was Charlie. I am now pregnant with my second baby, a boy, and I’m really struggling with names. There isn’t a whole lot of boy names I like! And of course, I can’t help it, but I really like the name Charlie. There are a few other names I kinda like, but not as much as I like this one. Would it be too weird to use it? What do you think?

I had a cat named Sammy and I would still name my son Sam (if I had one) because Samuel has always been one of my favorite names for a boy.

I love the name Charlie but couldn’t use it as it’s my brothers cat. I kinda felt weird using it because of that.

My mom was almost named after a dog and let me tell you, shes still upset it even came close lol. I ront so much think it's a good idea either. Or at least dont tell him he was named after a dog?

We had a dog named max and when my nephew was born they named him max but it had nothing to do with our dog. We just called our dog, dog max and my nephew max as a joke. Lol

My first pick for our baby girls name is Kayla... unfortunately that was the name of my dog that passed away 4 days before i found out i was pregnant. Its too weird for us bc the proximity of her death is so close. Luckily we have some other beautiful names on our list

I don’t think so, my dogs name was Sadie and my sister named my niece Sadie 😂 it was pretty sad when my parents had her and my mom would tell the dog Sadie no and my niece being two thought she was mad at her and would look at mom like what did I do??? Lol but in your case since they no longer have the dog I see no problem using the same name.
