Boyfriend isn't romantic

My boyfriend isn't romantic at all in the slightest and it really gets to me. He says "you know I love you, I don't need to do all that romantic shit" but it would be nice to have some sort of romance in our relationship. We've been together 2 years and it's always been this way. It's the silly stuff I'd like, he's only got me flowers twice, once on our anniversary and once sent to me in hospital miles away from him when I was pretty much dying. 😔
