To Grandmother's House we go!

Morgan

Had a slight hiccup today. Honestly, we were lucky it wasn't worse.

We're on our way to my parents house (baby and I) and we're nearly there, maybe another ten minutes away, when I hear the car make a funny, knocking noise.

It was loud, too! So I just had to pull over. The first time, I just saw a string hanging from the bumper. Pulled it out, continued. Only to pull over again moments later because of the knocking noise.

Checked again, found more string, this time from the right rear tire. Tried like hell to pull it all off, only to discover what's pictured here:

Not sure what it was, but it punctured AND shredded the tire! Called hubby right away, which he and my In-Laws were busy with construction of our house at the moment.

Thank goodness for roadside assistance! I attempted to change the tire myself, but missed a few steps and the tire/spare were too heavy to lift, and baby eventually woke up.

Eventually we did end up here:

This was at the end of our visit! Still, my baby took this particular moment in stride. We were grateful for the time that we got to spend with my parents.

Anyone else been through this with their child? Or something similar? How'd you handle it? How'd baby handle it?
