Should I ask my bf for financial support?

We are due to have a baby in October. I’m going to take about 8-10 weeks off work, as I will be having a c section. My job does not provide paid maternity leave, I will only have about 2-3 weeks paid off. We don’t live together, it’s a complicated situation, and won’t for another year or so. I’m not quite sure how I’m going to pay all my bills while I’m off work for 2 months. I really don’t want to have to take $ off a credit card or anything, but I feel weird asking him to help pay my bills, when he has all his own also. What would you do? How would you approach him?
