Any home remedies for pink eye?

Sometimes I'll get pink eye due to my allergies. The doctors office is closed today until Monday. I had a really bad case of pink eye a year ago that caused the skin to peel around my eyes. I don't want it to get that bad again, and I can't afford a hospital. Any home remedies?

Wash your eyelids with a Luke warm wash cloth, from your nose outwards to your ear. Use sterile saline drops to rinse your eyes, 5+times a day. 
Have extremely good hand hygiene, no make up or contact lenses.

I used to work in daycare and got pinkeye often. I would wash my eyes with baby shampoo and use the pinkeye remedy drops from Walgreens.
