Do girls develop/grow faster than boys (overall)? ~Read description~

Question

I know that I shouldn't compare my baby to other's babies and that every baby grows at a different rate, but overall do girls develop and grow faster than boys? A friend's baby girl is a week younger than my baby boy, and she can already sit up on her own, talks more, etc. I let my little man go at his own pace, but at the same time it's a little frustrating.

My son is way more advance then my husbands friends granddaughter. They are only days apart. It's the baby as an individual that determines when they do things. They all end up doing all the same things and eating dirt. Enjoy your baby at every stage, dont rush it.

I think every baby does develop in there own pace . My son is more developed then my bff daughter , then there is my second boy who developed slower then his brother so I think it just does depend . I let them be , they will be ready when they are .

My daughter is exactly 1 month older then my mom's neighbors granddaughter and my baby is already far advanced compared. Mine walks, has about 12 words she can say and comprehends a lot like if I ask her to grab mommy a diaper she will then hand me wipes and lay down. The other girl only crawls and says mama thats it. So babies grow at their own pace regardless of gender and the more you work with them the more they learn. For example I do not use baby talk with my baby but the mother of the other child does.

There is a really wide range for normal for a lot of infant/toddler milestones....but yes...it sure gets frustrating fast if you have a kid who is mid to late normal.
The one thing we noticed with our son who was on the later side is that he did things other kids didn’t do that you aren’t asked about at the pediatrician’s office.  For example, he could pedal & steer a bike really young - younger than my other kids.  
Kids often focus on one skill...so your child might just be crawling, but might have awesome dexterity compared to others his/her age.

They mature faster when they are preteens but as far as baby milestones each baby no mater the sex does things in their own time
