Unexpected c section

Went in Sunday (6/9) for a scheduled induction due to type 1 diabetes and high blood pressure readings. Started out with the Foley catheter over night which hurt like hell might I add. Around 8 am the nurse pulled it out and said I was 4 cm dilated but that my cervix was still high and hard. A few hours go by the nurse checks it again still 4cm still high and hard. At this point I’ve been in labor for about 6 hours with moderate contractions and the nurses are refusing me an epidural because I’m not past 4 cm. I’m pissed and hurting. Finally my doctor comes in, checks me and concludes my pelvis is too small to fit a baby through and decides to move ahead with a c section. Not what I had initially wanted but at this point I’m like thank you Jesus. Get back to OR, they get my spinal in and lay me down and I immediately start vomiting. Great. After that’s over I start freaking out because it feels like I can’t breath. Turns out my spinal has numbed me from the chest down, with the exception of my arms and though I feel like I can’t breath I can...the sensation eventually passed but let me tell you I was a wreck. It was all worth it though...
