How long did it take you ttc to seek fertility help?

My husband and I have been ttc for almost a year(last August) I have a 3 year old from a previous relationship, he has no children. We’re both getting really discouraged, we keep hearing that it’ll happen at the right time, etc. But we both really want our children to be close enough in age to be really close. Our son just turned 3 and I feel like we’re running out of time for that. We’ve been thinking about both of us being tested, but we don’t know if we just wait a little longer to see it happens and save some time and money. How long did it take you to seek help to conceive from a doctor?

We started trying for baby#2 when our first son was about 1. We tried natually for 12 months. At 12 months my husband had a semen analysis done which came back great. My ob/gyn started me on clomid which I took for 6 months. We continued trying during that time. 
After 18 months we finally were referred to an RE were it was discovered I had low ovarian reserve. Husband was 35, I was 34. 
We fell pregnant naturally pretty fast so it was a shock and frustrating it was taking us so long.
3 months after seeing the RE and 3 IUI’s later and we were pregnant. I currently have our 3 1/2 year old and our almost 8 week old son. 
If we hadn’t of seen the RE, I’m pretty certain we’d still be trying to complete our family. Good luck!

Going this month. We have been ttc for 14 months now and have an 18 month old boy. (He was conceived within 3 months so this has been very frustrating for impatient me)

We went after 5 months, as I knew it was very probable I would have fertility issues. We wanted to be pro-active, not wait so much. We started fertlity treatments 2 months after the first check-up and went to a specialist after the first treatment failed ((Clomid).

I went at 11 months.  Wish I went in sooner.  My doctor starts treatment at 6 months with no luck for anyone over 30. I'm 33. Still trying and at the 18 month mark 😔

I say go whenever!! They say it can take even healthy couples up to a year to conceive but I went to my GYN after 6 months TTC. I was lucky to conceive my first 2 pretty immediately but not now and I’m frustrated. After talking to my GYN she did an ultrasound and ran blood work just to see if she saw any problems. She didn’t so now we wait.. lol but you can go anytime! And if they dismiss you find a new doctor!!!

We talked to regular obgyn after one year. After 18 months we made an appointment with a specialist. Started iui process after 2 years.

Right at 12 months for me. But depending on how old you are you can go earlier. I’m 31, but they say after 35 6 months of trying is enough to seek help
