How does your newborn sleep?

Our baby does NOT like sleeping on her back- ever! Placed her on her tummy watching close and she slept 3 hours ate and then through the night. Used a wedge to have her on her side today and she’s napping so good 
So let’s be honest ladies, who else is a “terrible” “unsafe” mom?

This is not something i mess around with. I’d rather deal with a screaming baby than a dead one. You can’t closely watch your baby sleep all the time because you need sleep too.

There’s a reason sids has dropped 40% in the last 27 years statistically speaking, sleeping on the back being safest was one of the changes made during that time. Just food for thought.

I always placed my kids on their back, as recommended to reduce the risk of sids. It's not something I will risk. If my kids didn't sleep well its very biologically normal for babies to wake throughout the night for many different reasons so I never thought to move them any other way. They slept good after a few months

I answered side, but she puts herself in that position. I always lay her down on her back.

I put back just because that’s how he sleeps so far. If he likes and prefers his back then great but if he wants to lay on his tummy when he’s older than im going to let MY baby sleep how he wants to 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ sick of #momshaming. If that’s how YOUR baby wants to sleep then go ahead.

If you keep putting them on their back, they get used to it. It takes some time and energy, but I'm willing to do that if it means my baby is safe.

My daughter has never settled on her back and refused to be swaddled. She sleeps like a dream on her tummy and SHOCKER she’s still alive. We have a heart rate monitor so I’m never worried. My sister in law (paediatric nurse) has 3 kids and has slept every one on their tummy to help deal with gas. Each baby and parenting preference is different 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is frightening. My son slept 45 minute stretches all night and it was the worst time of my life, but I have a healthy 6 year old now instead of a dead baby. Wtf
