Period, miscarriage or implantation

Last week I was spotting for about 2 days but it was very faint and pink. The third day I thought I was going to start my period waayyyy early but the only thing that came out was what I can describe as a small red fleshy stick looking thing with branches? I didn't know if I should be concerned about this or talk to my doctor? I've read up on what the link spotting could mean but when I found out I was pregnant with my first years ago this never happened so I'm not sure what to expect here?
