When should we give her "big sister" gift

My husband and I decided to buy our 6 yr old an iPad mini as a "big sister" gift. We are due feb 4th and can't decided when to actually give her the gift. Are shower is oct 17 because be live in boston and are traveling to DC (inlaws live there) and before snow and holidays. It is anywhere from a 8-12 hour ride so..

I would give it to her after the baby is born being everyone is going to be visiting the new baby and that would be something to make her feel special too. Either way, you will most likely have a little bit of jealousy and that might help with her not feeling left out cause the new baby is getting presents and attention.

Give her the iPad after you have the baby so that toe child will still think she's getting presents too, and attention because you know she'll et jealous of the new baby I think it would be a good idea to wait till after baby

I could see benefits to any time. I think when the baby is here may give her something exciting to do while your busy caring for the brand new baby. I can only imagine going from the only one to having another baby that needs Mommy and Daddy's attention a lot of the time is a hard transition to make.
