I seriously don't understand cheating... How does a person get themselves in a situation like that? If you are even looking or thinking about another person, you obviously aren't happy with your current relationship and should talk with your significant other 🤷‍♀️

Physically no. Emotionally yes. I didn’t mean to, and I didn’t even realize it was happening at the time. I was 18 and had just started college. I had a crappy relationship with a man-child who was 26. He ended up in jail, but I didn’t know that. I thought he was just ignoring me for 2 months. Lots of guys took interest in me, which I had never experienced before. I’m from a very small town where I’m related to like half the population. There was one guy in particular that I hung out with a lot. I ended up telling him all about my relationship and confiding a lot in him. I loved being around him and he made me really happy. Years later I realized that while technically still in a relationship that was not okay. But I also found out that that ex cheated on me during our time together.

I sort of emotionally cheated. 3 months postpartum I was in a VERY dark place and it was hard for my husband to handle. I got very close with a good friend of ours. I discussed every text with him as it was happening. He was okay with it all, only because it was our good friend. He was just happy I was doing better while talking to him. Then, I decided that I felt bad and needed to prioritize my marriage. I told our friend that and we changed the way we talk. We are all still very good friends.

Cheated on my first boyfriend because I was still emotionally attached to the guy I lost my virginity to. He had been using/manipulating me for years and I was naive. But I felt so awful during and after that I never have done it again. It was a learning experience.

Yes - twice. Not proud of it. At 18 I was with an abusive boyfriend and I slept with a guy I had cared for and been friends with for many years. I did tell my boyfriend shortly after it happened, and he was violent toward me. We actually ended up dating for another year but it was rocky and involved more violence. In college I had recently started seeing a guy, but when I met his friend and we clicked way more. I turned down his advances repeatedly but I caved on my 21st birthday when the friend came out with me (the guy I was dating wasn’t 21). I took responsibility and broke it off with the younger guy. I dated the other one for a while until I found out he was sleeping with a high school student. Both times I made poor choices and both times there were consequences. 
I was casually spending time with two guys when I met my now husband. As soon as he asked me to dinner, I immediately put the brakes with the others and only had platonic friendships with them. Never has it even crossed my mind to have interest in anyone else. I don’t believe the “once a cheater always a cheater” is true when it’s a different relationship.

Not purposely; I was younger and was manipulated and didnt even consent. I thought i had and felt extremely bad but now that I’m older I know that it was a literal predator situation that just was not the “stereotypical predator style” that I assumed was the only way someone could be a predator. I still feel stupid and horrible about the whole thing even if I know now after help that I wasn’t to fully blame.
