Tongue and lip tie, does it get better when released?

Question

My son is getting his tongue and lip tie released this upcoming Friday. I was just curious if the pain I’m experiencing will go away?🙏🏼 
Nipples are cracked and it feels like it burns when he nurses. So I’m really hoping that the pain will get better?
Has anyone gone through it and noticed a difference?

My youngest had a very noticeable tounge tie. His was revised the day after he was born. I was numb up to my chin from my epidural so didn't really feel the full effect of the damage done till we got home 3 days later. Air, nipple cream, and at one point triple antibiotic, and pumping the most raw side were my best friends for a week. I have a feeling he has a lip tie as well but his doctor doesn't think so. He's 8 months and has a massive space between the upper front teeth and the frenulum blanches when he smiles. 
You should definitely feel a difference once they are revised!

We had our son’s tongue tie released when he was 2 1/2 months old. He got slightly better but still struggled. Our breastfeeding relationship was rough but we both got through it with a lot of persistence. Before we got the tongue tie fixed the only way he would nurse is with a breast shield.  After he still wouldn’t nurse without it.  I also tried exclusively pumping and couldn’t keep up with his demand. But all breastfeeding relationships are different and your little one may pick up the correct way to nurse easier than mine. His personality is stubborn like me and he’s set in his ways!

My daughter had a severe one and was bottle fed breastmilk (my choice) and she had extreme latch issues and they got 100x better once released. She did need speech therapy to retract her how to suck because she didn’t know how to without using her jaw more than her tongue
