Has anyone given up breastfeeding?

I just had my second baby a month ago and not getting enough milk and I feel stupid and stress got some personal things going on and I thinking it be better to give up pumping.

My baby was in the NICU for 18 days.  Between not having her home and stress I wasn’t hardly producing. I tried to continue pumping but my supply went away even after supplements etc. I knew I’d be supplementing with formula but her pediatrician told me my mental health is most important because you can’t care for someone else if you’re not taking care of you. Fed is best - no matter formula or not. Hang in there and know your baby will be fine whatever decision you make! 💝

I’d check with a lactation consultant for tips.   Most women respond better to baby directly on the breast as opposed to pumping. But I don’t know your reason for pumping. Try massaging your breasts while pumping (like push the milk out). And also try pumping more often if you want to increase supply.

So with my first baby I fed him for 18 ish months.. I ended up drying up in my last months of pregnancy... then when my daughter was born I only fed her for 5 ish months.... why did I fed my son so much longer? Because he was ok with feeding.. I had nothing else to do all day but take care of this little baby... my son was definitely more patient with breast feeding then my daughter was.. she wanted too suck down her bottle as fast as she could.. I had to take a step back and realise...... my baby being fed, healthy and HAPPY is what MATTERS... so I stopped and she has been incredibly successful since... you would honestly think she would have been the breast fed one

My girl is 4 mo this and I’ve basically given up.  I’ll ‘feed’ her once a day (def not getting much) and try to pump once as well.  My supply, which was never great to begin with, took a huge hit when I went back to work.  After like 3 weeks back and stopped having time to pump at all while I was there 😭.  I have a lot in the freezer though, so that makes me feel a little better.
