Birth Control Cause Weight Gain?

Question

Heard a lot of rumors that birth control pills cause weight gain. I have a friend who gained ten pounds after being on the pill and never lost it. What are everyone's experience with it, do you like it and did you seem to gain weight? My Biggest issue/worry about getting on the pill is gaining weight. I like my weight the way it is.

I gained a lot of weight on depo shot. All hormonal bcs can do that

I took it in high school and I did gain about 15 lbs. Nothing else in my lifestyle changed, so I do think it was the pill.  I was bigger then than I am now, and I've gotten older, not younger!  Now I'm using FAM (Fertility Awareness Method) in which I use condomns during the fertility window. This method works well with a monogamous partner, and I would recommend it. It requires more tracking but it's nice to know what's going on in your body.

I didn't gain weight on the pill. All other birth controls I did. But everyone's body is different and the side effects off all BC is weight gain.
