Just wondering

i myself don't have pcos, but my mother does and i have a few questions.

1. can pcos be passed down genetically?

2.are there any risk factors for pcos?

3.can pcos make you die?

sorry if it seems rude

1. Partly. There does appear to be a genetic factor for PCOS but it isn't completely understood. 2. Yes. Being overweight or obese is one of the main risk factors and losing weight often improves or eliminates symptoms for those with PCOS who are overweight or obese. There also appears to be a link with insulin resistance and PCOS.3. Generally no. PCOS causes ovarian cysts, which may, in very rare cases, cause life-threatening complications.
