Dehydrator and Canning
I’m at the point where some of my veggies are growing way past the point i can use them all. I usually give some away to neighbors and family but I’m thinking of getting into canning and dehydrating so I can make my own things like salsas, sauces, or even just preserve some of veggies the way they are.
Only thing is these are both pretty expensive undertakings so I’m curious if anyone cans and jars their own food. My oven has a dehydrating option so I’m going to try that out this upcoming weekend but is canning and jarring worth it? How long does it generally take? How long to master it? And if someone could give me a basic starter list of things I’ll need or what I should have that oils be great too. The internet is giving me lots of different results so I’d like to hear from someone who does it regularly. Please and thank you!
