Can you whiten/bleach your teeth while you are pregnant?

I have at home bleach trays for my teeth and I’m wondering if you can use this while pregnant? Sorry if this is a dumb question lol I’ve heard mixed opinions ):

Look into oil pulling. I swish coconut oil in my mouth as soon as I wake up for 5-10 minutes. It has definitely whitened my teeth.

I would stay away because your teeth get really sensitive during pregnancy and it can do harm to tour gums or teeth

I wouldn’t... but I’m a naturopath anyway, so I wouldn’t use bleach in my mouth to start with. Especially knowing your gums and under your tongue absorb things directly into your blood stream.

It won’t do any more harm to teeth or gums than when not pregnant. The potential danger is in swallowing the product. There’s not really any evidence one way or the other on if it is harmful to baby or not, but I always advise patients not to bleach when pregnant or breast feeding as a precaution and I am personally waiting even though I’d love to refresh smile more than anything right now.
