Would you change the name you picked for your baby if your friends/family didn’t like it?

I love a boy name that I brought up to my aunt and she looked nervous. I asked her what it was about and apparently my great great grandfather (whom I never even knew about) had that name and it was known that he molested the girls in the family including my grandma. I’m actually glad she told me because I don’t want it to look like I’m naming my kid for a pedophile. Needless to say the name is completely off the table now.

No.. not their baby. They didn’t carry the baby for 9 months. They won’t be raising the baby. Not their uterus...so don’t care what they think about the name.

This is why we didn’t announce the name of our child until he was born. That way there wasn’t time for them to complain or not like it. He was here and named. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Currently struggling with this right now! We found out we are having a boy and picked out the name Kieran and all our family and friends are saying yuck and that it’s weird. They seriously act like we are naming him Rainbow princess🤣 . We aren’t changing it.

My next apt I find out gender. That's when I announce to my family the name. I don't care what they think of the name. It's what my husband and I want to name OUR child. They can get used to the name. But I really don't think anyone will have an issue with the girls name. I think the boy names we have come up with they might be like wtf but I don't care 🤷🏼‍♀️
