Opinions? Are they safe?

Opinions on the swaddle me bedside sleeper? I bought a bassinet, which I am now uncomfortable with because the siding isn’t mesh..I know the baby shouldn’t be able to roll while in a bassinet but it still worries me. This sleeper has mesh sides but it’s inclined, I thought babies should sleep flat? Thank you for any opinions!

Baby’s should sleep on a flat surface  due to the risk of PA. I’ve nursed babies that have died from this, pure heartbreak. So I find it hard when moms say things like “my baby was fine”. I’m honestly glad your baby is fit and well but the risk was still there. I get a lot of mothers asking about chocking on vomit. If you watch a newborn spit up they will automatically turn their little heads to the side, that’s why they always have vomit on their shoulders and not on the front of them. You can’t get cribs like this is the UK as they are not considered safe.

Our pediatrician recommends only completely flat surfaces for sleeping. That would remove this from our list of options. Our guy has been just fine flat on his back with no incline as advised for safe sleep.

I got one of these for my shower. We put it together and the incline isn’t that much. There’s 3 levels, the one in the picture is the 3rd. That’s as high as it goes but anyway, I’ve always been against the whole sleeping completely flat idea. I had this argument with my sister constantly because of what she was taught and what is “textbook”.. when I had my daughter I had her in a pack n play that had a bassinet with a bit of an incline and thank God I did. One day I woke up to her spitting up and choking and that was her not being fully flat. After that she never did it again but it convinced me that sleeping flat just wasn’t something I was comfy with unless I’m watching them. So with this baby I plan to do the same and just keep her at a small incline, nothing crazy like in the picture. The reason why the sleepers were recalled was because parents were leaving their kids in there when they could roll over and would suffocate. The sleepers are not meant to be used for sleeping especially when the baby can roll over. This one is meant for sleeping. You could always try it, you never know if your baby is going to be spitting up in its sleep until it happens. You could also have your baby sleep reversed with feet towards the incline and head on the flat side 🤷🏻‍♀️ every baby is different and unfortunately we don’t really know how needy or not they’ll be until we experience it.

I have it and love it! The height helped with my c section recovery. My daughter usually sleeps on the 11 degree incline but she's been congested so she's been sleeping on the 30 degree incline. 
Pediatricians give you recommendations on safe sleeping. In the end it's all about what you're comfortable with and what works for you and your baby.

Desperately bought this bc lo hated the flat large bassinet after I ranted about how dangerous this sleeper is. It does lay pretty flat and is shockingly firm but cozy . She preferred it but it was more of a pain bc even when I finally excepted that this is how she would get some sleep you have to buckle them in for safety. I would never let her in it unbuckled. This issue is that after we put her down I would have to wait for her to settle back down to place the strap between her legs, and than wait again after that to buckle one side, and then again for the other. It was time consuming and if you didn’t do it exactly right she would wake back up. I wouldn’t recommend it. I always had concerns about it and slept restlessly because of it until we made the decision to put her in the crib at 6 weeks. Try out something with a flat surface before you become desperate like us.

I dont think your baby would roll over as long as you use the buckles to strap him or her in.

Yes they should sleep in a firm flat surface. I have a next to me crib defo recommend one of them as they lost a lot longer then one of these. My little girl is 7months and still in her next to me crib with plenty of room for growth to..

The incline will serve a purpose to babies that suffer from refluxes.
