Let me tell you a story
I want to tell a little story about a girl who was only 19. She ran off to join the army, got married young and got pregnant just after completing her training. This man was terrible to her, abuse in near every way. So she left when she had the courage to. It broke her spirit, why? She was bringing his child into the world and she didn’t have a thing for her.

Well eventually she has this child the divorce is done. She raises this beautiful baby the best she can on her own. Then she met someone - and hated him. For four years she didn’t speak to him until friends pressured her to.
She talked, he talked. He heard her story heard the pain heard fear and skepticism. He stayed. He stayed through sicknesses, tears, loss, fights....He stayed even though when he touched her just to feel her she would jump - she still jumps eleven years later.
He stayed when she introduced him to her daughter. He sent pictures of mister moo moo to her to show her daughter when she left him at his house. He helped her see what a daddy should and is. He loved her, and she loved him. He carried her to bed at eight years old like a princess should like clockwork for a year until she was sure he was her daddy. She calls him daddy.

He loved the soldier with all he had- and still does. He made time, he is patient, he gave her faith that she was beautiful. She’s just now seeing it. She has a long road ahead but it’s not so scary anymore...

She is me, that princess is OUR daughter. And him? He saved me...That is our story still continuing nearly two years strong. More to come.
