Knee issues. Help?
So I have pfps* in both knees. It's worse in my right one. On Sunday the 9th I tripped doing a slip n slide and bruised my right knee. It was sore but it wasn't that bad. The bruise was on the front of my knee towards the left. Then on Sunday the 16th I was on the back porch and we have a step to get off the back porch and at thw base of the step is a patch of concrete before you get to the grass. I had heels on and I missed the step and fell onto the concrete landing on my right knee. I scraped it and the scrape partially overlapped the bruise. It also caused a new bruise to form around the scrape. I was fine for a few hours. I stuck a band-aid on and went to eat for Father's day. I played basketball in the pool with my brothers. It was fine. Then I got out of the pool and went to rinse off and my knee started hurting. It kept getting worse. Yesterday I only left the bed to pee and eat because it hurt to put weight on it or straighten it out. Today has been better. I can put weight on it. I can straighten it if I'm sitting or laying down but it still is extremely painful to straighten it while standing up. I usually put most of my weight on my left leg because it's less likely to give out due to my pfps so it's not a huge issue to not evenly hold my weight. It's just very difficult to walk seeing as I can barely straighten my leg. If I sit with it straight I can continue to have it straight while standing but only for a couple minutes. I highly highly doubt it's broken or fractured or anything. I think it's just the bruise. (I did something similar to my elbow a few years ago and it felt just like this) the issue is I'm going out of town on Friday and I'd like to be able to be active and stuff while on my trip.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help the pain?
*pfps is a pain syndrome caused by damage or overuse of the cartilage under the knee cap which causes pain, weak muscles, issues walking, and stiffness.
